    Firearms Traditions for Today

Back in the present day, exhibits range from the long arm of the law (featuring Dirty Harry's S&W Magnum) to big- and small-game hunting. You can brush up on Olympic, national and international competition. See the revolver of NYPD officer and fallen hero Walter Weaver as it was found in the rubble of the collapsed towers on 9/11/2001. And don't miss the display of fakes, forgeries and fabrications.

    Significant Firearms in Gallery 13:

    • Anschütz Model 54 used by Launi Meili in winning her gold medal at the 1992 Olympics
    • Winchester Model 21 side-by-side shotgun with bent stock
    • A.P. Lane's Target Pistol, winner of five Olympic gold medals
    • Morris Fisher's Free Rifle
    • T.D. Smith's Colt Semi-Automatic Pistol, holder of the oldest world record in any international sport
    • Variety of Modern Smoothbores
    • Engraved Arms, a selection of arms from around the world
    • Colt Revolver Fakes, a study collection
    • Miscellaneous Rifles from a variety of foreign and domestic makers
